i just thought id write some in malay, since i am malaysian, after all. ;) but seriously, it is a bit sad to be celebrating (if u can call it that) hari raya (or eid, as it is better known outside malaysia) in a foreign land, without family and without the enthusiasm you have come to love surrounding you.

but enough about that, life in AC has been picking up its pace. Mondays and Wednesdays are really hectic, with a busy schedule (for me, at least) from 8am till 8pm. other days, however, are "o la la" - smooth sailing. classes are fun, and the place itself is really something.

I was out kayakking in the sea just this afternoon, and when i looked back towards the castle (did i mention that the main building of AC is a 16th century castle ?) and the view was fantastic! there was st donat's (the castle, not doughnuts), looming out from among the forests and mountains, and to the side was a green pasture, with spots of white sheep (yeap, AC has sheeps, and cows, and horses, and goats, and deers) grazing. and all that just by the sea. it was just breath-taking.

The people here are really nice, or have i said that in my previous posts? Really, they are. Owh, but one thing that is really fun about AC is the language. Im learning spanish, and its really so interesting, because they are so many latinos around, you cant help but want to practice your spanish. and norwegian as well. but na'am mena kawan kelabit sinih, so u'ih la' karuh kelabit also cannot, scared na'an kelupan u'ih..

owh, something about the latinos. i went to the latin dance activity last week, and i was dancing with ruthi from pero (i have been practicing my spanish with her), and she went "o amin! you speak spanish, you dance spanish, you're becoming latino!" soy un latino guapo! =p

to finish off, i just have to mention this. Powys house won sports week!! i got a real bad sorethroat afterwards, but oh well. it was really bad, the day after sportsweek, i was in bed, and juan (my dorm mate) asked me to wake up, i wanted to tell him 5 more minutes, but nothing came out. i tried so many times, until finally i just signalled with my hands. i seriously didnt have any voice for half the day, and for a week after, my voice only started coming back bit by bit. But powys won! so it was worth it. ;)
