im here!!

I’m here! I’m Atlantic College(wales,Uk, btw..)! Its really very very nice here. I was a bit nervous i over-anticipated how its gonna be here, but it turned out the other way round. Well, yea, the flight was long, and we (the 3 Malaysians) were among the first to arrive.Talking about the 3 Malaysians, wanna know something funny? I was going along yea, from miri-kuching-kl-heathrow. Sofrom kl-heathrow, i was sitting alone, and there was this girl sitting across the aisle from me. I noticed she kept on staring at me throughout the flight. But i ignored her, see. I thought she looked familiar, but i brushed the thought aside. Then, around the last hour, she met up with another gurl, i noticed them whisper a while, then the 2 of them approached me, asking “um, are u amin?” and i went “ur going to atlantic college?” and that was how we first met. Haha. If only i knew, i wouldn’t have spent the whole flight boring myself to death, all alone. -.-“

But anyways, at the airport, we met up with a few of our seniors there (they were waiting for all the new students to arrive). It was really fun, because people started arriving from all over. First there was ruth from peru, monrata from Thailand, alejandro from Venezuela, connie from china, ritendo from Zimbabwe, and so many others from all over. I was swamped with so many names that i ended up forgetting names as fast as i tried remembering.

It was about 3 hours from the airport to AC,and when we arrived there, i nearly didn’t want to get off the bus! Imagine, all the seniors surrounded the bus, cheering our arrival and banging on pots and pans. There was even a drum! And everyone who got off the bus had to shout his/her name and country, and everyone cheered everyone. Haha. It was a really warm welcome. There were 2 other busses that came after mine, and everytime, the whole student body went down to greet each bus the same way.

Everyone here has been really friendly and helpful. The place is awesome. I mean, there are 7 houses, each housing about 50 students. And then theres the castle with the dining hall, the breakfast hall, and some other classes. Then theres the academic building where all the rest of the classes are. Further down, theres the outdoor swimming pool and the indoor swimming pool, and the jousting field (now used for archery) is right next to the church (surrounded by a really old cemetery). Then next to the swimming pools is the place where they keep all the boats and their jetski, and from that area you can see the sea. Next to it is the college’s farm with sheep and cows and horses. Owh,and theres also the social centre, where they have the disco, the coffee lounge, the bar,and i THINK thats where the cinema is as well. I’m still not too familiar with all the places,so i cant be quite so sure yet, but its all so much fun.

Life is always moving forward, no matter what happens. Things and people come and go. Distance is merely a separation in the mind, and ironically, its the mind that overcomes the distance. Someone, either gone permanently or temporarily, can and will always stay with u, because memories are something that u can forever keep. We must all be strong, and an important thing we must all remember, is that no matter what happens, theres always someone who will help us hold our heads up high. And if im not the person who needs the holding up, then i’ll say, “im always here”. – for someone special who i hold so dear.
